Running Accomplishments:

Marathon PR - 3:05 (3:06 at Boston)

Completed a dozen marathons and a handful of 50 mile ultras.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Consistent aerobic and strength training.

Christie Clinic Half Marathon 4/27/24

Long-Term Running Goals:

Sub 1:35 in half marathon.  Then might consider taking a shot at full marathon again.

Personal:

I started more dedicated running and racing in my thirties.  Eventually I developed symptomatic bradycardia and SVT which required a cardiac pacemaker implant and a cardiac cath ablation.  It has taken a long time to get back to running consistently again.  Counting my blessings and trying to remain more balanced with fitness.

5 mi - Morning run, no walking but did have a pit stop.  Weighed myself first thing this morning and ohhh boy do I have some work to do in that department.  All I need to do is lose 30-40 lbs to get down to 170-180, that's all.  A first world problem in more ways than one.

5 mi - Lunch run, 6 x pickups.  Nearly everyone at the fitness club had a shaker bottle in hand drinking some kind of special workout elixir.  Mostly the younger crowd.  The supplement industry still at work.

10 mi - A jaunt around town before work again. Starting to feel some aches and stiffness, but goes away after 5 minutes.  I'm asking for trouble by jumping in volume this quickly, but making up for it some by going slow and easy.  That's what I keep telling myself anyway.

10 mi - Managed to make it another 10.  Last two miles were difficult.  The lower legs have been the biggest protesters.

10 mi - Before work, felt crummy first 5 miles and wanted to shut it down.  A short walk turned everything around.
