Sub 1:35 in half marathon.  Then might consider taking a shot at full marathon again.

Personal:

I started more dedicated running and racing in my thirties.  Eventually I developed symptomatic bradycardia and SVT which required a cardiac pacemaker implant and a cardiac cath ablation.  It has taken a long time to get back to running consistently again.  Counting my blessings and trying to remain more balanced with fitness.

AM: Easy run 4 mi. Cooler and wet morning. Plan to keep everything really easy for 1-2 more weeks. No orthotics.

PM: Another easy 6.35 mi.  Today's weather is a total match to race day last monday (40s, cloudy, and windy).  I had flashbacks the entire way.  I think running in this kind of weather will not be the same going forward.  Orthotics.

You betcha! As it says in Once a Runner, "there are no secrects". I still can't believe you ran with Peter Reid. That dude is tough as nails upstairs.

I am reading "Once a Runner" right now, great book so far...lots of perspective into the mind of a runner.

Peter was fun to run with and fun to party with afterwards (along with his wife). Really athletes, real people...real fun! Kind cool after the race he indicated that running fast again (in flats no less!) and turn 40 soon he was "motivated" by me to possibly compete again! Now that's cool!

Just think that you might have lit a fire under his butt again is very cool.

Great work today! Although the blog title is funny. Peter should join the blog knowing now how fun we can be.

I hope the recovery is going well and the motivation for the next one is high.

Thanks Kory. Just facing the facts. I'm a slow runner vs. you guys. My motivation for racing is very high right now. Lord willing, I'll be putting up times like yours in about 3 years. I consider myself a patient man, just don't ask my wife.

The lower times will come. Simple tempo runs mixed with long runs will really reduce the times when you do this consistently week after week. You will get there with the faith you have in God.

Me, I think I've reached my threshold and think I can only barely get under a 2:30, but it's going to take a lot of work and help from God.

yes...patience! Not a gift of mine, but I'm determined and disciplined. Keep up the good work!
