Completed a dozen marathons and a handful of 50 mile ultras.

Consistent aerobic and strength training.

Christie Clinic Half Marathon 4/27/24

Long-Term Running Goals:

Sub 1:35 in half marathon.  Then might consider taking a shot at full marathon again.

Personal:

I started more dedicated running and racing in my thirties.  Eventually I developed symptomatic bradycardia and SVT which required a cardiac pacemaker implant and a cardiac cath ablation.  It has taken a long time to get back to running consistently again.  Counting my blessings and trying to remain more balanced with fitness.

Easy out and back run on a bike path.  Ran about 2 mi worth of fartleks during the last 6 mi.  No idea how fast.  Just ran faster than normal while focusing on staying relaxed.  Feels great to have another week over 100 miles.  I can't believe I'm running this much with no orthotics and using old beaters that are at least 2 years old.

Insane mileage Bob...seems you've got a handle on it though. Nice work!

Amazing! When is your next race? I want to see how following the Van Aaken Method translates to PRs.

Thanks for the support everyone. I've increased my miles since I have more spare time these days being unemployed and looking for work. Not sure when my next race will be since I'm trying to save money here and there. Plus not sure if we'll be moving or not given the job situation. I plan to run a smaller low key mary this fall. Might try a 10K before it.
