Personal:

I started more dedicated running and racing in my thirties.  Eventually I developed symptomatic bradycardia and SVT which required a cardiac pacemaker implant and a cardiac cath ablation.  It has taken a long time to get back to running consistently again.  Counting my blessings and trying to remain more balanced with fitness.

Long run 21 mi. (7:49 avg).  I left work and ran on a bike trail, but instead of doing a simple out and back as planned, I decided to go exploring one way.  Then called home from a nearby town for a ride back.  I had enough energy to just keep running, but daylight ran out and I knew my family would be getting worried.  Terrific weather with 70 temp. and I had a terrific view of the sun setting since I was away from the city and in the countryside at that point.  It's amazing how quickly the sun slips away after it reaches the horizon.  Simply a great and liberating run overall.  I really enjoy running over the countryside.  God willing, planning to go a bit farther next time and try to reach the next town.  I'll be sure to give the Mrs. a heads up though and bring a cell along.

I'm envious of your run. Isn't great was an unexpected day of running works in your favor? Nice job!

Yes, I like those Forrest Gump type runs, don't you? The legs feel separated from your thoughts and it feels like you are just along for a ride. Sometimes I wish I had some company along, but that would probably change the dynamics of the experience.

"Isn't it great when an unexpected day of running works in your favor?" Just in case you were completely confused by my above comment. And yes, Gump is the perfect example. They are few and far between, but when they happen it is quite glorious. Hope your injury is getting healed.

Great run at a great pace. The hammy must be feeling good. It's always good to keep the Mrs. happy.
