Completed a dozen marathons and a handful of 50 mile ultras.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Consistent aerobic and strength training.

Christie Clinic Half Marathon 4/27/24

Long-Term Running Goals:

Sub 1:35 in half marathon.  Then might consider taking a shot at full marathon again.

Personal:

I started more dedicated running and racing in my thirties.  Eventually I developed symptomatic bradycardia and SVT which required a cardiac pacemaker implant and a cardiac cath ablation.  It has taken a long time to get back to running consistently again.  Counting my blessings and trying to remain more balanced with fitness.

Rest day and watched "Victory" with the kids.  I haven't seen that movie in many years.  I think it's a real cinema treasure and one of the best sports movies ever made.  It captures the most pure victor and spoils secenes at the very end.  If you don't get fired up after that scene then you need to check your pulse!

AM: Ran 6.5 mi easy.  Not sure how the week will shake out running wise.  My right foot is still sore, but manageable from a running perspective.  Hurts the first 2 mi then gradually feels better, but then is sore again when done running.

PM: Ran 6.5 mi easy.  Foot not as bad as this morning, but still has issues.

Spent the morning covering 31 mi.  Really not feeling too bad and can see how taking scheduled walking breaks of 100-200m is the way to go for covering longer distance.  Nothing to eat before, but began fueling after 1 hr. of activity.  My right foot was not an issue during the run, but is still a little tender when pressure is placed on it.  Finished in 4:45:00 (9:10 avg).
